Fissures in the Wildlife Conservation Coalition: Clean energy vs. Birds When the wildlife conservation constituency merges with other groups interested in preserving biodiversity such as environmentalists, hunters, and animal rights groups, they form a very strong coalition. However, on several issues, fissures occur among these groups due to differences in values, priorities, and policy preferences. One such case involves environmentalists who prioritize clean energy such as wind turbines versus wildlife conservationists such as bird lovers.
